Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter is an American actor and producer who is well-known for her high-quality performance in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano and The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards for her work and has even won an Oscar. Her acting career began on Broadway through a myriad of Broadway and Off Broadway productions. She has had a passion for acting ever since when she was in the school. Her debut role in a play in fifth grade was in Helen Keller. As a result of having mumps, she went deaf in one of the sides the ear. This did not stop her ambition to be an actress. She studied drama at college after which she moved to Pittsburgh to New York City to follow her dream. Hunter had her Broadway debut after an accidental conversation and Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated on Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved from Los Angeles she tried to obtain film roles and was offered a supporting role in Swing Shift. In the three decades since she was a part of the film she has appeared in many films, television movies and series. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was also awarded her the Women in Film Lucy Award.
